Nurture & Wellbeing

Nurture and wellbeing are both at the heart of education, and without these, no amount of learning will or can happen.

Feeling valued, heard and respected are just some of the key pieces to positive learning experiences and so taking a more personalised approach with learning where possible can greatly enhance the ability to connect to learning.

Peer Nurture Groups

Exploring difficulties and sharing perspectives can be extremely valuable for learners. Having time to consider barriers to learning, having opportunities to succeed and sharing with others can enhance the interest and confidence for re-engagement to learning.

Nurture groups are best served to the individuals that attend them and designed as a collaborative process that each participant has consented to travelling within.

Co-creation with learners is key if positive progress is sought.

Therapeutic Play, 1:1 Sessions

Holding space for children to be heard and witnessed within self directed play. This type of therapeutic play is a non-directive approach to supporting the child into expressing what is being held within and not yet been given the space to be expressed.

Therapeutic Play relies upon rapport with the practitioner and safe boundaries within which expression can take place and this takes time to establish.

A minimum of 12 sessions recommended as an initial starting point.

Massage in Schools

Sharing peer to peer massage can support children's learning and teach children to have experiences of having boundaries, asking permission and giving consent, etc. It teaches about positive touch between peers. Shown to activate positive hormones that calm and soothe the body and mind, peer massage can provide a soothing balm to school stressors within a classroom, improve peer relationships and prepare children for learning.
